Acupuncture is a gentle and effective way of healing the body naturally. It is based on the theory that a vital energy nourishes the entire body through a network of channels. Acupuncture regulates the flow in these channels allowing the body to heal itself.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a complete medical system that has diagnosed, treated, and prevented illness for over twenty-three centuries. Millions of people have found acupuncture to be a better solution than drugs or surgery,  successfully addressing chronic ailments and managing pain.  Acupuncture has been recognized by the National Institute of Health (NIH) as well as by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Insurance

As the medical community increasingly recognizes the benefits of acupuncture, more insurance providers and HMO's are covering all or part of the cost of treatments.  Health insurance policies vary, and should be reviewed to determine what benefits are provided. If you have insurance that covers Acupuncture the office will bill for you.

Preparing For Your Session

When you come in for your first visit please be sure to have eaten before you arrive.  Also wear comfortable clothing.  The first visit will entail a detailed discussion about your health concerns and your past health history.  The first appointment will be approximately 1 1/2 hours.  The follow-up treatments range from 45 minutes to 1 hour. Since every person is unique in their own condition, the numbers of treatments will vary.

In addition to acupuncture, your visit may include other treatment modalities such as cupping, moxibustion (burning herbs to heat acupoints), auricular therapy (ear acupuncture), herbal consultations and nutritional counseling.

Please call us anytime at (415) 402-5002 for any questions.
